HEMPFIELD TWP., PA. (July 16, 2026) – The Cordish Companies and Live! Casino today hosted a celebration to announce the details of $17,271,863 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants distributed in 2025 to Westmoreland County municipalities and governmental agencies. Last year, the LSA provided funding to 69 local municipalities and organizations to help fund 90 projects throughout Westmoreland County. Individual grants ranged from $1,133 to $326,000. Since Live! Casino began operations in 2020, Westmoreland County municipalities and organizations have received $75 million in distributions.
The LSA grant proceeds are derived from three distinct funds: Local Share Account Statewide, $13,133,563; Local Share Account Category 4 Facilities Program (Westmoreland County), $2,161,556; and an additional $1,976,744 distributed to Hempfield Township as the host municipality of the entertainment facility. Both the Statewide and Category 4 Facilities Program LSAs are authorized and coordinated through the Commonwealth Financing Authority (CFA). State legislators, Westmoreland County commissioners and Hempfield Township representatives were joined by dozens of grant recipients and local community leaders to celebrate the community investments, all targeted to improve the quality of life in Westmoreland County. Funds have been used for a wide variety of needs, including police and fire department equipment, road resurfacing, bridge reconstruction, playground and park improvements, stormwater upgrades, and more.
"Today, Westmoreland County residents are experiencing first-hand the direct benefits of gaming with more than $17 million in funds to support nearly 70 community and economic development projects throughout our local communities," said Senate President Pro Tempore Kim Ward. "We worked diligently to bring gaming to Westmoreland County and our community partnership with Live! Casino is paying off and we are grateful for their investment in Westmoreland County as they have distributed more than $75 million to municipalities and organizations since they began operation in 2020."

From an overall economic impact standpoint, the Live! Casino facility has generated $919 million in investments to the economy since its opening in 2020. As a sampling, Live! has paid almost $310 million in taxes, including nearly $60 million last year. An additional $160 million was invested in construction and $233 million in employee compensation and benefits, goods, and services. Live! Casino also has donated $1.5 million through charitable contributions and associations, targeting local charities. Beyond investments and donations, jackpot winnings by customers have totaled more than $370 million in payouts.
